it's the rural architecture, and as you know in this kind of making builds, there is no geometric harmonies as the city buildings.

I find its simplicity and its sence for solitary being very striking, Kiarang. It causes the impression that everything has been left there, the people just went away, and this is the only thing that remained back - an empty view but still with a very strong human presence. The few green tones of the small carpet, the browns of wood, and the orange cable fit very well (as color strokes) the otherwise almost B&W image. They have enough white space to evolve their power.
A very good example of how to "design" the world by just using the right framing - much better than trying this and that PS-filter for "creative work" like we see so often ;-) Just two ladders, one vertical and the other horizontal on a white-grey background! The essence of elegance is simplicity on this one!

it is the simple design that make it so striking. a very strange feeling of abandonment and yet, as Nick pointed out, a strong presence of humans.
in addition, I do find them interacting so beautifully in a canvas so carefully depicted and designed with few colours that despite their limited presence they do take over.
