This is a photo for the temple of Luxor that I captured last week while I was on a medical convoy to Luxor.
We all know that the center of the Place de la Concord in Paris is occupied by a giant Egyptian obelisk. An interesting fact to know is that it was one of the two original obelisks (82 ft (25 m) in front of the Pylon of Luxor Temple that was removed by the French – 1835/36. and reconstructed on the Place de la Concorde in Paris. In exchange, Egypt received a clock for the Alabaster Mosque in Cairo.
Luxor Temple is beautifully lit at night so it's worth visiting the site at sunset. The gateway is flanked by massive pylons, one obelisk and two enthroned colossi of Ramses II.
