Ronen Helman   {K:6247} 1/18/2008
very good use of DOF,very good use of lines and shapes.
what i like the most here is the fact you use an objects that is so common and can be found everywhere and make an art out of it,lots of people try to take pictures of common objects and come out with a dull picture,a good photographer know how to make it interesting and that what you did here.
excellent 7++++++++

Avi     {K:67755} 1/18/2008
thanks JD.. well, the floor itself was B&W.. I did not desaturate any part of this. As for converting it to B&W, I tried that, but it wasn't coming out well..

Tycho Posthumus   {K:249} 1/19/2008
It's a nice DOF I'm sure about that, but I find the composition and colors a bit boring. And there's too much noise on the floor, maybe you could've reduce it in PS or something.

All good,
Tycho

Avi     {K:67755} 1/19/2008
thanks for your inputs, Tycho.

be well!

Nick Karagiaouroglou   {K:127014} 1/23/2008
Again a minimum of DoF, as minimum as it can be! It conveys much of something to me, that I could describe as sitting on the chair (that we don't see on the image) and focusing something only for isolating my mind while thinking very intensively about something... or while being completely empty of any thoughts! A situation similar to "midnight BLUE".

Technically I find the almost parallel lines of the back of the chair and of the floor, and the square of the top of the chair leg against the squares of the floor, to be of great value. They still define a perceivable pattern - or I define it while thinking? Interaction with the image, that is!

Unusual yet magnetic!

Nick

Avi     {K:67755} 1/23/2008
Thanks Nick. This image is more like an abstract (or if we have to say precisely, an abstraction). Sometimes I shoot these purely from the point of view of a visual treat. Something that appealed to em at that instant, and I thought let me share with my friends and see how they feel. :)

cheers !

Nick Karagiaouroglou   {K:127014} 1/24/2008
Oh yes, of course, and there will be always much of that kind of "letting other see with my own eyes" in photography - quite a share of impressions, that is.

Or even a message but with no singular content - it can be interpreted in many ways, though it is still what we saw. The "real things" on the image are the same but their roles for abstraction are quite subjective and that causes also some exchange between people here. It is very interesting then to see what kind of influences the thoughts of one may cause to the thoughts of another.

Cheers again!

Nick
