Very nice winter capture, Andre! The firs look beautiful with their coat of snow!
Dave.

Thanks Dave,
I hear you are going through a bit of a cold snap this week! Wind chill at -50 in some areas?

This image was taken yesterday in a balmy +3c. You guys go swimming up there when it's that warm:)

I see now what you mean with "nice winter", Andre, and I must say, I wish I could have a bit more of that here too! The details of the many trees are remarkably well captured, but still there is not that kind of "pure chaos look". And this time it also has something of that old fashioned character of some paintings of winter landscapes too. I have the impression that it belonges to a bigger image - somehow like being a special part of that.

What about the strwas on the front? Would it be better if the were cloned off?

Cheers, and enjoy the snow!

Nick

Hi Nick,
Yes I'm trying to keep my last few winter landscapes quite simple in terms of the amount of colour in them. I think that helps to create a more relaxed, less chaotic look. So I admit taking some of that straw/grass out of the image would probably also add to the simple minimulistic look. I probably should have taken it out.

And I assume that it is exactly that relaxed mood, of which you talk about, that best fits and conveys the atmosphere a such a winter landscape, Andre. On some of your winter images one can really "hear" how the snow sounds under the own steps.

Cheers,

Nick

Thanks Parehan,
I'm glad you like it!

Thanks Nick,
I'm glad you can percieve the winter images that way.

So, just keep them coming then, Andre!

Hi Nick,
We are getting some freezing rain today that might provide a few good opportunities over the next couple of days.

And here we only have brightest sunshine since two weeks, Andre! The images of this winter will be rather summer-like, I guess! ;-)

Cheers,

Nick

Hi Nick,
Maybe you will have better luck with winter next year. Anyway, as you say, your spring is just around the corner.
Andre

Hi Andre!

Oh well, sometimes spring in wintertime can be (photographically) interesting too! ;-)

Cheers,

Nick
