Great shot Tony with great colors, compo and details. It must have been around noon cause i see only a bit of shadow of seagulls...am I right :)

Congrats on the new camera, the Fuji S9600. I was going to buy the same model but I was not sure of the image quality, so perhaps you can tell me a bit more about it. I know that it takes only AA size baterial which I am not very happy to use but........anyway I would like some feedback from you if you can let me know.

Regards
Burim

Good catch of all these birds, and the lighting really brings them out, Tony!

Wow well spotted Burim. It was indeed just after noon.As for the camera I am still learning how to drive it and just haven't had the time to really try it out. Yes it takes 4 x AA Batts (I use 2500Mah Rechargeable) and I took about 450 shots the other day at work of a wavesurfing ride using a set that I had already used at home, before they ran out. The Auto Focus Tracking setting for action shots is pretty cool but will eat up the batteries pretty quick. I had no problems following the people on the Flowrider while they were surfing.Image quality is ok considering I don't know how to use it properly yet. On Auto it has the usual Fuji flaws of white exposure being off and the pics being slightly under exposed, but using the Manual settings it is amazing.Excellent indoors and in shadow with the built in flash. Has the 28mm Wide Angle to 300mm Zoom lens which is great at the bottom end BUT I have noticed a little bit of distortion around the edges of the photos if used at the 300mm end. Pull it back to 280mm and it is ok. The RAW mode is unreal (I never had it before) and I look forward to playing with it more. The best review I read before I bought it compared it with a Canon S1 and the Fujis Images were judged to be better but as we all know it is the user that gets the image. If I had a choice between the Canon 350D and it I would always choose the Canon but if you were to forget that you can change the lenses on the Canon and it had a 28 to 300 zoom lens (for comparison with the S9600)then for me I cannot see 3x the difference in the Images for 3x the money (Australian price comparison)Sorry I cant be of more help yet Burim but as I say I need to spend more time with it instead of working.
Cheers
Tony

Hi Burim. This is a picture I took at work of one of the staff on the Flowrider. The Flowrider is like a Surfing machine where the water is pushed up the slope and you surf against the wave rather than with it. I used Shutter Priority with Auto focus tracking on to get this shot. I brightened it just a little in Photoshop but nothing else.

Tony
