i like the shot, and the pose of the girl as if she is submitting to the man- in a very subtle way, very typical; but i do not like the guy there, maybe because of my understanding as how a man should be looking- rough and tough, supermasculine with a cigarette and hat- no earings or necklace :P

Great concept Shirley, but to be honest, I just don't believe it.
I am sure I will be attacked and subsequently destroyed for voicing my honest opinion on this image, but I really don't feel you truly captured the emotion of true love here.
Is this an actual couple, or a couple of models? Because for me, it doesn't look like a couple in love, the feeling and emotions I draw from this picture, is a woman and her platonic male friend, not lover. You could certainly argue that they have a friendship type of love, but I don’t think that was the emotion you were aiming for with this image. I just truly don’t get a sense of romantic love from this image.
Don’t get me wrong Shirley, I love your work and this was a great concept with the right set-up, but based on body position and facial expressions, I just don’t believe it.

Hi Edward. This was not a set-up, nor professional models. Yes, Anna has been one of my favorite models, but she is not a professional, and has had no training in such things. This was her boyfriend at the time...an interesting character...lol, and they were definitely in love. I did ask them to pose for me, but just caught their spontaneous interactions with each other once they were settled on my sofa.
