An example of something quite simple in geometry in front of a rather complicated background. I only think that some more blue on the sky could help to make it even better. Also, a perhaps less centered layout with even more exaggerated perspective at the minimum focal length? BTW, what was your focal length here?

The light and the rather simple color palette do agree with the simplicity of the geometry of the main subject, though, and the timing was also very well chosen - a moment of everyday life, but still something special in its simplicity.

All the best,

Nick

Nice shot Bobot, even if I prefer the the different composition you previously did on similar view.
Compliments for your beautiful eye you have.
Cheers

HI Nick, It has been overcast here for more than a week now, I was lucky because I captured it while there was a man working on it, this is on a busy street. I saw this structure a week ago and thought of an opportunity if there was someone working on it.Been frequenting until I passed by at high noon and there it was.. I stopped the traffic....
thanks..

I know what you're talking about, Bobot, when you refer to stopping the traffic - and perhaps having many drivers looking a bit... angry to you ;-)

Anyway, the opportunity was indeed not to be lost, with or without clouds and with or without cars!

Thanks a lot for the info about the image!

Cheers,

Nick

I was using a zoom lens attach to a 5D, according to the info it was 38mm for the focal length..
did a little cropping and adjustment...
thanks,

visar sherifi   {K:14570} 2/28/2008
even the idea of making a billboard, like this, without some beautiful woman advertising some lipstick or cigarette, would be great!! I am sure that kind of scenery would trouble the everyday routine of many people! Banksy did something similar in the dividing wall of Jerusalem!

despite the simple look in its composition and the elements there are, from the angle/ perspective it is taken the image generates depth and spacial feel. that's from the vertical outlines of the bilboard which are not parallel with canvas, and a probably little noticed element that contributes to it is the electric poll further back.
in addition to all of that, the man in action up there gives spirit to the shot.

glad to see it was awarded, Bobot,

all the best,
v.
