Somehow, B&W like this always work for me.
The square gives a strong composition. The compressed perspective from using a telephoto lens and the strong diaganols leading into the distance where there is a second point of interest in the group of people.
A strong character in the first point of interest (the old lady) where she is perfectly placed.
Shame about the bin on the wall but that is nothing to do with your skills as a photographer.
