About My Grandson, Anthony, turned 3 yrs. old and a celebration was clearly in order. Mom ordered him an inflatable 'jumper' and there was food and a no host juice bar as his guests streamed in to offer him gifts and congratulations for living another year with his parents.

Here, sporting the new "I got arrested yesterday" haircut, he pauses inside the jumper to express his approval! :)

What a beautiful grandson Doyle !! You've done a great job on catching a perfect expression and light in his eyes as well as the light and shadow thru-out this image ...I love Your 'about' lol!!
This is a very heart warming image but I think you may also have a heart breaker of a grandson as well :))

Warm Regards,
Michele~

Dave.

John Hatz   {K:137664} 2/25/2008
Great shot, and somehow even you have here strong difference of lighting you have well ballanced exposure so the shadow part of the face looks enouph well Doyle, good job!

He has chinky eyes Doyle.. wonderful expression of joy and approval you've captured.. beautiful smile..
A different lighting, very good. The shadow show the situation and place where he is..well done!

Ah, you mean THAT sort of "jumper"(as opposed to the "pullover" sort :-) )

Here he has a knowing smile, way beyond his three years. The shadows on his head are striking - emphasising the imprisoned look that his haircut does nothing to deny.

This is a shot that impresses for its unusual perspective and POV.

A very very oroginal PoV here, Doyle! It's different and catching - a portrait style that we don't see everyday! Alone for that I must say: Really great work!

Your focus and separation of little Anthony from the background works insanely good for me. Actually it looks also a bit like those images of rock celebrities in magazines, but still it remains less "flashy". It's quite straight!

I find the well differentiated lighting/toning on his face/head another big plus here, though there is some weakening of the otherwise good focus on his hair. (Or is it because of the many tiny hard reflections of sunlight?)

A good one!

Nick

Thanks John! That (perspective and POV) was what pulled my head and camera into the jumper to begin with. Danger looms when you put your head in there for bouncing toddlers to play "Whack-a-Mole" with! Get in, get the shot . . . and get out! :)

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99493} 3/6/2008
Wow. Thanks ever so much Nick!! As usual, your eyes are very good. What you have seen is, indeed, hard sunlight reflections . . . and the side effect from the only exposure that allowed for the balanced facial lighting . . . a small price to pay! :)

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

fotogr@vi     {K:49269} 3/7/2008
check some of my recent works, when you have some time

Nick Karagiaouroglou   {K:84805} 3/7/2008
Indeed, a neglidgible price to pay, Doyle! Or perhaps even a benefit for making the strong sunlight visible too!

I really must try something similar in this way!

Nick

Great shot grandpa. I love it. Wonderful portrait and lighting. Being grandpa is a responsibility that is well worth the effort.
Be well, Stan
