Thanks Howie, I can't take much credit for the composition or the beauty of the car for that matter. The car is a fantastic design that I think is impossible to take a bad image of :) The Lamborghini exhibit at the show was wonderfully presented and set up. Andre

Nicely done, Andre! I like the composition, with the almost mirroring image in the background, even though a different model of car. I know it's not easy getting shots in that environment without people or other distractions. Dave.

Thanks Dave, You're right about how sometimes it isn't easy to get decent shots at car shows. Unlike most displays, this one was like a giant model show, free from mirrors, terrible lighting and the dreaded velvet ropes. The Lamborghini display featured about 20 different models from all through their history. This one is one of my all time favourites because of that opening scene in The Italian Job. (easy to find on U-Tube) I was a very impressionable 20 when that movie came out, and fell in love with this car. As well as the Mini Coopers of course. :) Andre

Andre,
How cool is this? I would love to take my pick regarding one of these beauties...
It's fun to get into it on this site every once in a while. People that really use a lot of PS I have no use for. But I will desat, crop and resize... Also this is a very political site meaning if you get on the chat rooms and kiss butt you can get many awards.
Well that leaves me out... LOL
I promised Albert not to use his site as a chat room again, so that's why I'm replying here... hehehe

Thanks Todd, A good point about blurring the cars in the background. I probably should have taken more time with the camera settings. I can do it in Photoshop too, but I do prefer the adjusted DOF.
You have to admit, those "VW Lambos" are no slugs either. :) Sometimes the exotic cars from the good old days are not as great as the myths surrounding them. But I don't care. I think they are all amazing. And what about that fantastic Audi R8? Audi had one on display at the show too. But, I had already scene one earlier at the American Lemans race at Mosport in August. What a fantastic road car! Andre

Hi Martin, They had about 20 Lambos at the show last week. All different years and models. This one has always been a favourite of mine.
I feel pretty much the same as you do about the way this place works. I don't have anything against people using Photoshop or other software. A lot of people here are very good with it and do a great job on their images. I just think that there are way too many people who slap together a few images and play with the bells and whistles in Photoshop simply because it is easy to do and looks kind of arty. Then, when the images are posted, up come 7++++ all round. I find it kind of amusing. Sometimes I feel like putting together a few "abstracts" in ten or fifteen minutes just to see what kind of response they get. But that would be mean ;)
I didn't know that about the chat rooms.... I better get into that. I'm kind of low on awards myself ;) Andre

Hi Todd, Here are a couple of images of an R8 that I took at Mosport last summer. They used it for a pace car. This one looked great in the rain. The only thing I didn't like the looks of was that grey panel running down the side of this one. The ones at the Show last week had that panel in polished Carbon Fibre that was almost the same colour as the car. That looked much better.
Anyway, I would never buy one. There is no trunk space with that engine back there!! ;) Andre

Andre, I'm sure all new cars smell the same unless Lamborghini has their own scent and it adds 25% to the price, but I'm not familiar with that at all so I may not take it by scent. I like my new Vue now, it's cool and it's doing good job for me. Cheers, NJ

Such an Italian job I would like to have too, Andre, though I am really obsessed by the Diablo! ;-) (Though I can't even drive! ;-))
You got the yellow and the details on the car well done here, and I must be very enthusiastic about that since yellow is still my problem - I always overexpose it! And as is stands here between the much darker regions on the image, it was surely not quite easy to get the right balance, but you did that since there are many well visible details bith on highlights and shadows. I also find the classic perspective very well mathing the classic feel of the car. BTW, as I already talked about the Diablo, thes older cars had perhaps less power but they had indeed more character. Somehow it seems that all cars evolve to the same perfectly aerodynamic form which makes them also not as recognizable.
Cheers,
Nick

Hi Andrzej, My friend at work has a Vue that he bought a couple of years ago. It has not given him any trouble at all. I think you will enjoy yours. I think the new ones look much nicer than the one my friend has. As far as new car smell goes. I think I might trade the old leather and hot oil smell of this Lamborghini for a new car smell any day. I just picked up a new Subaru Impreza, 5 door, 2.5 sport. I like everything about it, but the new car smell. :) Too sweet somehow :) Andre

Hi Nick, They did have a couple of Diablos at the show too. There were over 20 different models there for a special Lamborghini Gallery. Kind of like a model show but using all real cars. I have to give the exhibitors credit for the lighting that allowed the images to come out nicely. I was able to take most images that day without using a flash or tripod. Andre

It sounds like a a quite nice exhibition, Andre! I guess you enjoyed that pretty much, or didn't you? ;-)
I also find the restrictions against taking images really too much sometimes. Feel lucky for the light conditions at that exhibition, that is!
