Hm, your first effort in going Close Up Sid da ;) ... excellent focus on this insects head, wonderful strong colours, so very detailed, great catch of this particular pose, great b/g ... maybe a little bit more light, but I am not the expert for macro's ... excellent in my humble opinion !!!

Hi Sid,agree with Srna Stankovic, although suffering from poor lighting. You should try a wider aperature setting to get more depth of field,. A flash would probably help too. Kind regards,riny

Dear riny,aperture was widest , as I was having a 18-70mm which is not at all a dedicated macro lens... however I told srna that i could have used a flash....Hugs Sid

I can't tell you what kind of insect this is, but I can tell you it isn't a wasp. Entomology aside - this is a awesome capture! It does have a wee bit of noise, but everything else looks great. Good job!

It is a good attempt at a macro but obvious, that to achieve it, you had to significantly crop, Sid! I bet you wish you had a macro lens!
