I know what you mean . . . we saw some beautiful Sea Eagles in LA. This poor guy was tethered and being cared for by a rescue group having been blown into a tree during a storm and injured. They have a wicked bite, not to mention the talons!

It was the claw the pierce my arm deeply, good thing only the hind claw, the front claws rip my clothing only.. I had the camera infront and I think it was intimidated..

Gorgeous image of this fierce and noble predator. I actually work at Interior where every spring we seem to go through the ordeal of having the Canadian geese (protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act) kill a bunch of mallard ducklings (also protected)in the pond outside the building. I keep telling my co-workers to stop naming the wildlife.

I was very interested in your information in your 'about' -- it is news to me ..but we sure do see a lot of eagles around here and I know in Alaska too .... sheesh I did not know to have even a feather was illegal !

A very very descriptive, defining portrait of the eagle, Doyle, and both the limited DoF as also the timing do justice to that majesty of the skies! I miss only that last tiny bit of sharpness on the textures of its feathers, but the aperture priority was definitely the way to go here! And the contrast of its bright colors against the dark background make the "classic" look and feel even stronger!
A good one, really!

BTW, I am also so glad to know that that creature is no more in list of endangered species! Which must also be attributed to the sensitivity of all people like you for such subjects! And for which I say "That was good, pal!"
Wish we had some of them around here too, but it os better for them to live in theor natural habitats.
