About Cockatiel nestlings ready to be pulled from the nest. Hand fed, they adapt to people much better, relying on them for life itself. People become members of their flock.

So now the truth is revealled: punks modelled themselves on baby cockatiels!

Wonderful detail. I still haven't got a 105mm. I still want one!

Thanks John . . . How ya' been? The 105 Micro is one of the best . . . Finally picked up the converter Joggie uses with this lens . . . incredible. Certainly a great lens! Thanks for stopping in!

Doyle I <~~~~~

So maybe I should pop over to B&H and pick up a 105 right now - the price difference compared with Europe would pretty much pay the air fare!

Figures to be true . . . since the $-USD continues to fall. Use them 'frequent flyer' miles! ;P

great clarity Doyle, you could see the budding feathers very well, the nostrils and the eye are so clear , I didn't have to put my reading glasses on... ;) looks very delicate and cute.
thanks Doyle , it was an instant memories of my childhood when we peep to the different nests.
wonderful capture!!
regards..

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99493} 3/17/2008
Thanks very much Michele. They're . . . ummmm . . . so ugly they're cute . . . but they become downright adorable and love to snuggle up with people! :)

Doyle I <~~~~~

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99493} 3/17/2008
Thanks Bobot. I did some second guessing on the aperture for this one. Didn't want it too shallow and I seem to do that as a habit from my macro work.

You nest peeped as a kid too, eh? We're practically twins!! I was always thrilled to find the young ones . . . but I don't climb trees . . . well . . . I . . . ummm . . . don't climb them as often anymore!! :)

Doyle I <~~~~~

Maryanne Murillo   {K:9250} 3/17/2008
Personable looking little fellows these (why am I talking like Yoda?). Anyway, they look really cute and funny and you captured them very well.

All the best,

Maryanne

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99493} 3/17/2008
Thanks Maryanne! Suh-weet you are, I am thinking! (Had to try the Yoda thingee too . . . better be careful, it could be addictive - LoL!)

Doyle they are so adorable! I used to hand feed my little baby (she's a lovebird) and you're so right they adapt to people so much better that way. Amazing picture, great details and clarity. Thank you so much for sharing.
Best,
Julie.

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99493} 3/17/2008
Thanks very much Julie! :)

They are so funny as babies. Hard to believe how beautiful they are as adults. Great shot, dear Doyle!:)

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99493} 3/18/2008
Thanks Shirley! They are quite the characters even at this age. At feeding time they leave you NO doubt that they've never been fed before and are quite vocal as they lift those heads up trying to get higher than each other! It's really quite amusing.

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

You're welcome, Doyle!:)))

Naomi Weidner   {K:6543} 3/18/2008
Faces only a mother could love!! Nice contrast of colors and shapes. Initially I thought it might be nice to have their bodies in focus, but the DOF you used might make their heads/faces stand out a little more -- especially those spikey feathers on top. Thanks for commenting on my image, The Hunter. -- Naomi

Keith  Growden   {K:16566} 3/18/2008

ps..I don`t think UF allows 'hot linking',Admin never answered my query but I am not surprised.

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99493} 4/4/2008
Hi Robbie! Thanks for the comment. I agree . . . I know SOME off the HTML is disabled (and for good reason) in some places and is permitted in others (Description of your own photos, for example). I doubt the Hot Links would be permitted but confess I really don't know and, since it's not addressed in the FAQs and the "Staff" is AWOL . . . only time and the luck of the Irish will get your answer for you. If I find out, I'll let you know . . . and assume you'll do the same for me, right? :)

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Hi Robin!

Now . . . S-L-O-W-L-Y . . . step away from the keyboard. Take your coffee into the kitchen and dump it . . . and rinse the cup thoroughly. Refill it with fresh, hot coffee . . . and don't add anything flammable this time.

And don't you "GAK" me young Lady!!

(You crack me up too)!

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Robin Wickenkamp   {K:16211} 4/9/2008
LMAO...I had a few minutes to kill and I AM easily entertained, you were the chosen victim...FYI-gak was not for you or the birds...directed only towards (my)comment content.

Take care my friend...R
