I was wearing special over boots just in case. Not long afterwards I was sloshing around in the water looking for different angles. The boots I am wearing go over any shoes or hiking boots that you might be wearing and are light weight nylon affairs that i leave in the trunk of the car for just such occasions. They are called NEOS .... Google them for a new perspective near the waters edge. I used them in the Antarctic every day as well.
