Thank you Al, I really do like the 40D so far. I noticed you have the same camera. Can I ask you if you use any of the picture styles that are included in this version? That is a new feature, right? I usually just shoot aperture priority. Now I'm gonna be embarrassed if that's not new, I don't remember seeing them in the 20D...:) Thanks again! :)

Linda,
Aperture priority was on the 20D, the 10D and every other SLR made as far as I know.
Picture styles is a new feature which you set through the menu on the back of the camera. I only used it for setting Landscape or potraite modes to go along with my white balance.
I show amost every in Maual and RAW. I'll only use Av or Tv modes if I need to hold one of them constant, such as the dance recitals.
The color on the 40D is much improved over over the 20D

Hey Linda,
wish I was there to take some pictures. We had melting snow this afternoon pffffff.
Anyhow, I like such beach-scenes....much wind, sand, water and solitude. Well exposed I must say !
