If feet could express them selves I think these seem to say I'm relaxed and enjoying the show. Very nice contrast between the shadow and the water. Sorry Avi, I tried to find something to crtique, Bill

this is a fabulous play with light and shadow Avi, lovely contrast, lovely idea, but.....as I was looking at this strangely beautiful shot!, my eyes pulled a frame out of it, and I wish to show it to you, despite the fact that I don't like manipulating anybody's image, this is the only way that I can show you what I mean, sorry, tell me what you think,

No, I don't think I agree with you this time Mahassa. I don't like to crop the dancing fountains, since they are as important a character as the feet in this 'sundance'.

Quite a good match of title and content here, Avi, and unfortunately the thumb steals away much of that, because the sparks of light are not visible there. But on the big image they make it quite visible, as you simply concentrated on that important part of the scene! And that also created a very original composition of the street, under very very strong contrasts!
I find also the notion of distance and direction by the lines of the pavement and the shadow of the man to be of great importance here. They give the image a good possibility to say what is front and what is back.
Well seen and taken the best possible advantage of it!
Nick

Well, Avi, for me it was not because of the "less impressive" thumbnail. But rather because the direct touch of the full-scale image was mot on the thumbnail.
In general I don't even wish "impressive" images, since I see by the time that the worst damage to photography is still being done by that kind of "hunting the impressive". Trying to explain that here:
That hunt really shifted the real interest from the *image* itself, to what it depicts as formed in the fantasy of the spectators. The next step was then to start justifying an image only by "fantasizing" about the scene, object, whatever it depicts, *and* ignoring anything else, like details, light, etc on the *image*. After this step *all* images are just as "great" since it is always possible to fantasize something no matter of how good some image is. And since this has been made possible, there are of couse about 6 billions natural born photographers (and also movie-makers) on this planet - and the number grows every day - who know everything about photography just when they come out of the womb. I wonder how it comes that I have to learn all that in small, tedious steps, full of work - must be a stupid person!
But that's what I find so essential and so good in your phtograpohy, and in the photography of several other people here, Avi! It is that you never try to impress by posting the images of the usual wannabe "etherial-emotion-loaded-artist" who will never care to find out what a work that takes. Great thing to see here!
Cheers!
Nick

I do raise my glass as high as I can with you, Avi!
But allas, I think that I'll be too often the "bad guy" here, when I mention all that. As long as they want "impressive" we'll have to keep some things in the right perspective, no matter what it might cost.
Cheers!
Nick
