Oh one of the many huge logs just rolling down with the currents! I love the area you live in, Michele- itīs so beautiful in so many varied ways. Itīs truly a treasure being surrounded by such natural beauty.
Great colours in this one! Everything was so brown and grey when returning to Denmark, but now Spring is also slowly setting in here in Denmark:-)

Hi Nicki !! I am so happy to hear YOU do have a list for comming over to Oregon ---

I think the Salmon River was maybe the only spot that Annemette missed ...we went all over the place but it was raining and cold so not as much fun as on sunny days....still she was a wonderful sport while I would show her places and go sit in the car I was so cold -haha!!! (Great guide huh?)

Thank YOu for your comments as always my dear.

Big warm hugs,
Michele~

Michele Carlsen   {K:135097} 4/8/2008

Michele Carlsen   {K:135097} 4/8/2008
Hello my dear Annemette...I guess You are used to seeing these monster trees everywhere thru-out Oregon now from the mountains to the rivers and beaches .....You followed this river as you entered LC( or rather Neotsu) but it was probably very shallow from the road ....
Thank You for comming to Oregon and to see my beautiful friend in person at last was a treat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John Hatz   {K:144528} 4/8/2008
Impressive, the tree has good lighting on the darker area of the water and that adds in contrast, something that I like a lot!

Michele Carlsen   {K:135097} 4/8/2008

You're welcome, dear Michele!:)

Dan Wilson   {K:13611} 4/14/2008
Nice shot, looks like you have tried to pull some detail in the left. I think you should have left it more of a silhouette

Michele Carlsen   {K:135097} 4/14/2008
Ha! You don't miss much do You Daniel -!!

You got me - I did try to pull some light into it ...but then like You say - I also felt like leaving it silhouetted...sooooooooo
this is what happened -lol

I appreciate your help and great comment .

Dan Wilson   {K:13611} 4/14/2008
hehehe, I have been doing this for many years. Plus I have a great LCD screen which shows stuff up quite easily. I could see the effect slightly in your trees as well :-).

Keep up the great work

Michele Carlsen   {K:135097} 4/14/2008
Well Daniel thanks for confessing ..especially with your LCD screen :)) Photography is new to me as far as using a real camera manually -haha!

I've always just used a point & shoot ... I think I was having a bit of an exposure problem (?) Not for sure but I am working on it ...

If not for all the great help I've recieved here on UF who knows where I'd be ..

Thank You for the support and kind words my friend .

Dan Wilson   {K:13611} 4/14/2008
Hi Michele, you were the one confessing you could have denied it completely :-), it is great that you are so honest. Yes the image was underexposed, which is why I could see the image noise around the tree's from the brightening.

Do you use photoshop? The shadow and highlight option works very nicely in most cases, and it is very flexible on what you are darkening or highlighting.

Another very handy couple of filters are neat image pro, which fixes up image noise in photo's and sharpens at the same time, it is very fexible and easy to use, with breathtaking results, you can even download camera specific profiles for different ISO levels of certain cameras.

The other plug in is Photo Tune 2, has the most amazing colour touch up for skin tones in portrait photography, plus colour correction for standard shots. The same company also has a product called Phototools Professional, I have this also but seems more difficult to use so have not experimented with this one as much.

These three filters are pretty much all I ever use.

Hope you find this information helpful

Michele Carlsen   {K:135097} 4/14/2008
Thank You so much for all of this imformation and your time Daniel...I don't use photoshop..nothing but picasa so far- well a bit of photofiltre ..so I am not advanced in post editing BUT slowly this information I am recieving is sinking in and after viewing the results I appreciate it ever so much ...

You are 'Very' helpful - Thank You again..
Your friend , Michele~

Dan Wilson   {K:13611} 4/14/2008
Your more than welcome Michele, isn't that what this site is about?
I wish more people realised that it is more than just uploading your photo's and recieving comments on them.
