Am I missing something? I think I see a bear in the right edge of the pic between the trees but I am not sure. Am I right? Great pic. Gary

Great tones and composition but I don't think I'd want to walk in those woods alone! Great capture Kes, well done! Darlene

The woods is not always a good place for people with claustrophobia, or a tendancy to be paranoid. You caught that feeling Kes. The wolf is waiting for Little Red Riding Hood somewhere out there ;)

Good capture of a spooky feeling, Kes.:)

Omnious feeling, Kes! Evocative!

Hi Gary, thanks so much for your thoughful comment! I would have not seen the "bear" if not for you, but those shadows certainly look like a bear! These woods are definately their territory...hmmm...maybe that IS a bear! YIKES!!!

:)

...and yes...I think perhaps there was something else...I've reposted this photo with a subtle change in the crop to bring out a hidden (perhaps) element...

Kes     {K:18398} 4/20/2008
Thanks a lot, Darlene! It is a "quiet" place for certain...I'm betting you know what I mean. There are some places that are so quiet that they are a little spooky. :)

Kes     {K:18398} 4/20/2008
Thanks Andre! It is a wonderful place. Very secluded, with an old, old overgrown mining road (it is in the photo) that follows what I feel is an older trail up into the mountains.

These places give me a sense of history, a feel of the people that have passed through over time.

I've reposted this with a subtle crop change.

Thanks so much, Shirley!

Thanks Eb! "evocative"! That's high praise! :) It is one of my favorite places to pass through...but the only time I go there is after cutting a load of firewood lower on the mountain...so I'm usually too tired to mess with cameras.

Hi Kes,
We are a few thousand miles apart, but I know exactly what you mean when you talk about feeling that "sense of history" Abandoned, mines, farms, trucks and equipment just ooze with that old time feeling. As you know, some of my favourite work is with images that I've taken of deep woods and abandoned cars and trucks. Photographs taken of these present and historical subjects have a special mood and aura all there own.

Hi my dear friend!
Wooaaah! So extreme abstraction here in your b/w style, a bit
creepy and interesting in one! Love the mixtures of different
textures. Nice depth of field and well used focus, well captured
& seen. I agree with your fantasy/vision so original!

Have a great day and be well dear KeS,
Robert
