The difference of light on the front wall and the background walls of the houses is such a tension here! The details do the rest for creating a dense scene in which then the two guys are walking. There is much sense for distance and perspective, as also for that rather silent look of some less crowded street. So it really goes as a study. I'd only add that some more details of the pavement could be of help for the "plane of reference". But this way the extreme lights of the street provided the string contrast to the persons.
