Wolf Zorrito   {K:5569} 4/25/2008
Great shot Avi, a real face ! Good light.
White area right of her neck distracts a bit.

fotogr@vi     {K:49295} 4/25/2008
You are bang on, Wolf. That part, plus the white part of the brim of the hat.. I used window light, but still got these two areas over. Any suggestions ??

fotogr@vi     {K:49295} 4/25/2008
Hi Adam !!

Thanks very much. Now I started trying these cross-processed looks, and soon will be trying the scratched ones too :)

parehan .K   {K:20231} 4/25/2008
Those eyes are very clever and beatiful dear Avi, It's definitely very very catching!
Loads of affection and hugs, parehan

Avi,

* White triangle, use cloning tool.

* Brim of hat, add some noise or structure/pattern like the inside of the hat.

fotogr@vi     {K:49295} 4/25/2008
Sure Wolf, I can do that by editing, but my real question is how do I do it while taking the shot ?

I used window light here, and as you can see, the face is not over-lit, but those white areas got over. What do you suggest - some other colors ? (but then, this was actually a candid ! .. problems.. problems.. :):)

akll the best and THANK YOU !

Kes     {K:18221} 4/25/2008

i bet she loves it....?

" I used window light here, and as you can see, the face is not over-lit, but those white areas got over. What do you suggest "

I suggest to take the shot at EV -1 or -2 to avoid white saturation. Lateron you can compensate dark areas in PS.

And use a towel or diffusor to spread the window light ...... :-)

Ilir Xhemsiti   {K:4258} 4/25/2008
Very good portrait my friend, great light,..

Wolf Zorrito   {K:5569} 4/25/2008

very good light and the details seen on the shadow area..
very good tones, almost monochromatic but the earing has a different hues.. good one!
regards..

fotogr@vi     {K:49295} 4/26/2008
Thanks Bobot. I tried a different processing here. Will try some more of this technique in future shots.

have a great weekend, my friend !

Srna Stankovic   {K:103036} 4/26/2008
Love the catchlight in her eyes, so expressive eyes she's got, natural light and her modeling as well as tones, good one my Avi !!!
Hugs,
Srna

fotogr@vi     {K:49295} 4/27/2008
Thanks Srna. But the natural light left two over-exposed areas here. I am thinking of buying a diffuser, as suggested by Wolf.

Hugs,
Avi

Srna Stankovic   {K:103036} 4/27/2008
Oh yeah, now I see Avi ... or just to put your subject in a different position ... look at my latest portraits with Tamara by the window and all with her a little bit away from the window and mine last ... you will see what I am talking about ... all are taken by natural light ... and off course buying a diffuser is a good solution.
Hugs,
Srna

fotogr@vi     {K:49295} 4/27/2008
Yes, that is another very good suggestion - moving the subject a little further from the window. Thanks Srna !!!! :) :)

BIG HUG !!
Avi

Encantador retrato, muy buenos los tonos oscuros.
Bravo!

Kes     {K:18221} 4/28/2008
haha, hey Avi, what can I say about that? Women. ;):):)

visar sherifi   {K:16905} 4/28/2008
the blue of the earring has a major significance to me Avi. It has broken the almost monochromatic monotony of the design.
then, the light is gorgeous in high contrast.

i think, portraits of such kind are very hard to take as there is a high possibility that they may end up uninteresting. but your work has proven otherwise, so cheers to that.

regards,
v.

fotogr@vi     {K:49295} 4/28/2008
YESSSSSS !!!! ... YOU saw my point with the blue ear-ring !!!! .. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU VERY MUCH Visar !

In fact, for a few days now an even crazier idea is circling in my mind.. I might be tempted to try it pretty soon..
