¿Porqué se conmemora el día del animal?
Pocas veces nos ponemos a pensar qué sería de la vida del hombre sin animales; sin caballos, sin vacas, sin pájaros, sin peces, sin monos o sin perros... muy aburrida, por lo pronto; pero también muy incompleta. Por no decir inviable, porque el hombre no es más que un integrante de un inmenso ecosistema que necesita de todo el resto de los participantes para subsistir. Incluso los animales más salvajes, o los que nos parecen más inútiles o dañinos, cumplen su función en el ciclo de la vida.
Si los maltratamos, si los destruimos, estamos actuando contra nosotros mismos.-
Ya a fines del siglo XIX, muchos hombres tomaron conciencia de que el desprecio por los animales y la voracidad humana estaban provocando el maltrato hacia mucho de ellos, y peor aún, la extinción de numerosas especies, lo cual una vez que ocurre es irremediable.-
Uno de esos hombres fue el ex presidente argentino Domingo Faustino Sarmiento. Junto con él y otros compañeros el Dr. Ignacio Lucas Albarracin (también sanjuanino) creó la sociedad argentina protectora de animales.-
Allí se desempeñó como secretario y, al suceder a Sarmiento, como presidente; Albarracin promocionó la sanción de la ley nº 2.786, de protección de animales (promulgada el 25 de junio de 1.891), que establece la obligatoriedad de brindar protección a los animales, de manera de impedir su maltrato y su caza.-
El Dr. Albarracin falleció el 29 de abril de 1.926, y en honor a este incansable luchador en defensa de los derechos de los animales, la sociedad protectora de animales, eligió esta fecha para conmemorar el día del animal.-
Aunque muchos no lo saben, los animales tienen derechos que los protegen del maltrato del hombre.
La liga internacional de los derechos del animal adoptó en 1.977 y proclamó en 1.978 la declaración universal de los derechos de los animales, que luego fue también aprobada por la ONU (organización de las naciones unidas) y la UNESCO (organización de las naciones unidas para la educación, la ciencia y la cultura).-
Por todo esto es que en este día, más que nunca, debemos comprender y difundir la importancia del respeto a cada uno de “nuestros compañeros de existencia”, más allá de lo insignificantes o valiosos que nos parezcan.
No olvidemos que si lo que nos diferencia de ellos es nuestra capacidad para poder “razonar”, entonces... seamos “humanos” y respetemos sus derechos.

Is reason commemorated the day of the animal?
Few times we begin to think what it would be of the man's life without animals; without horses, without cows, without birds, without fish, without monkeys or without dogs... very boring, for the time being; but also very incomplete. For not saying inviable, because the man is not more than a member of an immense ecosystem that needs of the whole rest of the participants to subsist. Even the wildest animals, or those that we find more useless or more harmful, they complete their function in the cycle of the life.
If we mistreat them, if we destroy them, we are acting against ourselves.-
Already at the end of the century XIX, many men took conscience that the scorn for the animals and the human voracity was causing the abuse toward much of them, and worse still, the extinction of numerous species, that which once it happens it is hopeless.-
One of those men was the former Argentinean president Domingo Faustino Sarmiento. Together with him and other partners the Dr. Ignacio Lucas Albarracin (also sanjuanino) creó the society Argentinean protector of animals.-
There he/she acted as secretary and, when happening to Sarmiento, as president; Albarracin promoted the sanction of the law nº 2.786, of protection of animals (promulgated June 25 1.891) that establishes the obligatoriedad of offering protection to the animals, in way of impeding its abuse and its hunt.-
The Dr. Albarracin died April of 1.926, 29 and in honor to this indefatigable fighter in defense of the rights of the animals, the society protector of animals, chose this date to commemorate the day of the animal.-
Although many don't know it, the animals are entitled that protect them of the man's abuse.
The international league of the rights of the animal adopted in 1.977 and it proclaimed in 1.978 the universal declaration of the rights of the animals that then was also approved by the UN (organization of the united nations) and the UNESCO (organization of the united nations for the education, the science and the culture).-
All told this is that in this day, more than ever, we should understand and to diffuse the importance from the respect to each one of "our existence" partners, beyond the insignificant or valuable that we find.
Let us don't forget that if what differentiates us of them is our capacity to be able to "reason", then... let us be "human" and let us respect their rights.

Very nice love these animals been followed several times and they go through or past our property twice a year. Spring and late fall. Nice "About", heart felt. Got half way through translating it when I discovered the english version...lol. Well shot, nice compostition, love the tongue. Great timing. Color is perfect, just the way they are. A blend of natures surroundings. Beautiful.
