there's no doubt that there's a fantastic use of light, and a very carefully worked out eye. the expression, which is limited, it still has just the imperative elements to convey that feeling of 'darkness closing in'. in general i like the soft bordering of the shadow and the form it creates and depicts.
if i may give my critique on this, which is the only one i would point out; is the soft, almost shiny contours of the skin. I think, some roughness, in the sense of having that layer removed, would work even better.

a very dramatic light on this portrait, the selective coloring really did emphasized her eyes and especially its color. very good selective lighting and coloring composition.. beautiful light and shadow..
