Hey Sri,
it nice to hear about your will of doing photography, really. And i am sure you are not that naive as you say you are. But giving an effort in understanding them good enough and what can they give you while trying to catch a moment, shoot a shot without any modification of light, detail, colour, grey scale etc etc- I think it is an imperative!
otherwise Art is so unimaginably broad, it allows all dilitants call in the name of Art; it is like Democracy- everyone may partake- but few take decisions!! So there is some criteria that is a golden reserve; not to be in disposition of everyone- maybe that is a discremination; but the beauty of it all, and the key to enter to that door is communication. with it one can get anywhere!!
and I like that!
with regards to your shot; I think the idea of shooting on a backlight is a nice one due to making it possible the visibility of the details of the leaf. and they are beautiful and make it a lovely capture!
the only thing i might have my reserve here is the lack of sharp focus. that might be due to many reasons, the way of shooting, ISO ratio, the light condition; and even wheather (if there were a slight breeze), etc. Having a tripod, could be a solution.
(on your camera you also have the parameters of increasing the sharpness, saturation, tones. Have you checked that?)
