hi adam,
there's an excellent composition from this perspective, which has exposed the most interesting part of the tree, i assume.
The light is very interesting too, and i assume it was hard getting those details that you worked out, and the result tunred to be strange.
i am not sure as how do i refer to that phenomenon other than grey hue which is so soft and to me it gives an unpleasant feeling. I think that is due to desatiration rather than turning them into monocrome with red filter.
have you tried that?
