He is Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor from Malaysia and was the first Muslim in space whose spaceflight coincided with the last part of Ramadan last year (Oct 2007). He was showing videos on how he performed ‘tayamum’ and prayed when the orbit of the ISS results in one day/night cycle every 90 minutes. Sheikh Muszaphar is an orthopedic surgeon and also a part-time model.
I took this picture while he was shaking hands and signing autograph after the event.
