Nice shot Andy, my only suggestion since you asked, is get your subject out of the middle of the frame, think rule of thirds. I would have put the subject in the lower left hand quadrant, giving him space to the right. It would have also open up the mountains.

Color, exposure, DOF are very good.

Andy Seehusen   {K:1656} 5/14/2008
Thanks for the suggestion, Al. I appreciate it. I'll try to crop it again and see how it works. Cheers!

Andy, remember it's just one man's opinion....

Andy Seehusen   {K:1656} 5/14/2008
Yes, but it helps me learn. I have always been unsure about cropping, so I am willing to try suggestions. I appreciate the input.
Cheers.

Andy,

How I would crop it...

Andy Seehusen   {K:1656} 5/14/2008
Thanks, Al. I will take a look at the original and post it, see if I can crop it with more to the right. Thanks a lot for your help.

Better, much better

Andy Seehusen   {K:1656} 5/15/2008
Thanks, Al, I also made another crop, which I'll have to upload when I get home. I'll keep working on it. I like the color of your crop better also, more vibrant. Thanks again for you comments, they are very helpful.

thanks, Jacques.

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55401} 7/13/2008
I know u could probably not have done this in another way, but had u been closer and down on your knees taking it it would have emphasized the dog, man and the mountains in a fantastic way:-)
Best wishes
Annemette

Thanks for the advice, Annemette. You're absolutely right. I often wish I had more time to get some of thee shots while they are there.
Best of luck.
