hey Gianes,
thanks for stopping by; there's another shot of this serie that i have taken and it is closer to what you mentioned 'yin and yang'- as it has also a black hole in the white snow!
but i will not post is just now!! after i finish the upcoming serie- 'childre'! :)

thanks, and have a nice day,

It is a real pleasure to watch your photos where you take shots of things that we see on our lives day by day, and you present them in such an artistic manner and with so much delicacy, that is truly adorable and most amazing.

Regards
B.L.

Oh this is fabulous, dear friend. To me this represents the eternal fight within ourselves and in the world as a whole between good and bad. A hopeful image that shows that good has a way of taking over- just wonderful.

And it reminds me of an old image of mine, named someting lihe "What is Yin and what is Yung" - or similar. I thinknthat your extreme contrast of light and shadow puts some emphasis in the apparentkly contradicting opposites, Visar, that at the end are no opposites at all.

The great amount of details on the grass turns the white parts (snow?) to some kind of... intruder! The white surroundings of the image combine with the image itself and turn to a continuation of the "non-image area" into the image itself - this image is invaded by the white... the nothing! So... the sentence "Nothing invades me" could be interpreted also another way. A more fruitable way, I must say!

Visar, this one is definitely a poster! A huge one!!

Cheers!

Nick

Very nice, ..Excellent
Thank you very much my dear for your comments

absynthius .   {K:17155} 5/18/2008
Hey Nick, long time no see.
thanks for the thorough comment.
yes, the white formation is snow. in the images of such where not many elements are included are the hardest ones for me. that is because the choice has to be very careful and there has to be full fledged cohesion of elements so that together they convey a meaning/ understanding...

you hit the nail right on the top when etticketing the snow as intruder. that was the point, having the snow like 'the will' that is known amongst us- which when it exists it can take over things, despite the filthy grounds all around.

by the way, this shot is a part of series that i did in one occasion visiting Bogė village in the mountains, and that is called 'patterns in nature'; in addition i do also have an image looking almost like 'jin and jang'- but that is for another 'break notifier' on my UF account from one series to the other, like this one, an intermexo, so to say. so hope that you'll see it once the 'children' series is finished.

cheers,
v.

thanks for the comment and support on the choice on the title Bobot. there were many titles haning up on my head, i had a hard time to make the choice- finally, thoguht of 'dominance' being quite close.

thanks a lot,
v.

hey you blueyed lass
how special it is to read your interpretation of a world i picture.
yes, this is one of the most optimistic pictures i have ever made, i think. But, it does not really last long with the winter gone ;) - at the meantime i think green grass, is all around- all is needed is not to desaturate the environment. :)

thanks a lot Anne,
v.

Oh yes, I was burried under the rich material that I found in the archives about Wald's life and work, Visar! And the second delay comes from being burried under the (at least) 3276452 ideas that the guys had about how to organize the chapters of the book. But (hopefully) all ideas are now considered! ;-)

You're right, there must be good care in images that don't contain so much. The design has to have a great "integrity", or else it simply busts. And here it is brilliant. It generates the abstraction that I attach. Elegant and clear!

Now, waiting for your next steps in this direction! I can imagine such images hanging on the wall in a series!

Cheers!

Nick

Darkened the grass for enhancing the already present abstraction
