Thanks Harry. Flowers are not my style.. somehow I can't take them.. this was just a test shot.. I have started shooting in RAW mode, but am facing a lot of problems during post processing. Hence, trying to get some help.

Avi, I give up shooting RAW even had upload latest update SC3 10.1 mainly was a long frustration started with Canon glitches then I realize the differences wasn't substantial also time consuming now with JPEGS I do only 1 modification by posting here. If you like send me e-mail your questions!!

It occurs to me that this image would just as well if all the flowers were out of focus as in the background or they were all near focus as in the foreground. It's just a beautiful mix of colours and the contrasting black frame shows them off at their best. Surely saleable. Well done, Avi.

Well, it was more like a light breeze. It was blowing over the flowers.. almost caressing them.. and I wanted to capture exactly THAT feeling.

Hello Avi,
This is a very nice shot. The composition is fine, of course, and I like its delicacy and colorfulness. However, if you ask my honest opinion, then I'd say that I'd like to see it even more blurry, going towards the direction of abstraction. Opting for the other extreme, i.e., having it more sharply focused in the foreground, however, would result in an ordinary capture. But as you know this is just a matter of taste.

Not at all. I wanted to know your honest view on this, which I got.. thank you. This shot, if you see closely, is actually a picture of the breeze that was blowing over the flowers, and not a shot of the flowers. But I like your idea of the blurry abstract very much.. I will try it some time.

I did notice the breeze and that's exactly what makes it out of the ordinary. I would have tried with a much wider aperture to get shallower DOF as well as more blurry background to separate the main subject more from the BG. But again that's my way of going about it.
