About I've pre-visualized this situation for awhile. I was out last weekend and finally found it. I wanted to create a painterly feel, almost like using a knife with paint on canvas..

If I didnt know better, I would have thought this WAS a painting...an incredible photo.

Very nice effect, not too unlike John Charlton's Birches. I also want to do something like this, and am going to try it with both film and digital when I find the right spot. Both your recent posts are very nice. Beautiful!

You've achieved what you set out to do, John. Superior technical abstraction. True creativity translated into fine art. Fantastic, man. Keep with this kind of intuition.

Wonderful effect. A beauty.

Very sensitive!
It seems a painting, so fresh and soft!
Congrats!

I like this one alot. Were you moving the camera when you took this? Was the shutter set in continuous mode? I start a photo impressionism class this week, I'd like to try this on a field trip.
