About Taken April 13, 2002, Yellow River State Forest, Iowa. Got a good hike in and attempted to take some landscape shots. Ya know what? It is a really bad time of year to take landscape shots. A lot of America is indeed "Dressed in Brown." And there's not a whole lot you can about it till spring actually comes. In Iowa, we might be blazing in green a month from now. This was kind of a silly time to have Usefilmers shooting landscapes. (Give us a month or two.) I think a lot are digging in their files for shots to post. ;-)

I was just thinking ahead to warmer weather and such. Yup, within a couple months this could be a great shot! Green leaves, soft sunlight filtering through. Pretty tough right now, though.

I looked at this and thought, "looks like something a geocacher would shoot." Then I looked at your portfolio and sure enough... a geocacher! Even though it's not the classic time of year to shoot landscapes, it's a challenge to achieve good the right balance and composition, and you did it nicely here.

Hi Kennard! LOL! I looked at your photos... very nice... and then followed to your website. I already have your geocaching website bookmarked on my computer. I think I may have "chatted" on caching forums with you as "lizs." LOL! Small world, huh? I have thought of attempting your island cache, but not enough ice this past winter. And as of right now, I am signed up for that weekend event at Gov. Dodge State Park. Maybe I'll get to meet you guys there. hehehe :-) SMALL WORLD!
