About This is an osprey on the nest in the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. The nest was on a rock pinnacle about 500 yds or more from the lookout point for the Lower Falls of the Yellowstone. I borrowed the lens from Martin. to get the shot. I was excited about the osprey being in such a great spot for the capture. There were several people that were bird of prey fans enjoying the view as well. The osprey was in a place that would be safe from all harm unless the attacker came in from the air.

Stan, the picture does not convey the heights and depth of the canyon and the pinnacle of rock that the nest was on. Had to be there, Stan

Stan, this would be a great shot of the rocks alone, the osprey nest is the icing on the cake! Would be great to be able to return for future shots as the fledglings grow.

Thanks Dave, the rocks were awesome and stood as a pinnacle by itself. The canyon was magnificent and the osprey was incredible. One of those days, weather sucked but the park was alive. Be well, Stan

Phil, thanks, I love the birds of prey and to see them close is an exhilarating feeling. It is good to see the cycle of life continue in spite of our presence. Be well, Stan
