Wolf Zorrito   {K:12927} 6/3/2008
Those Ottomans again, powerful empire they had. I worked a while in Saudi Arabia and saw they had built houses in Jeddah and watchtowers inside the country.

G P   {K:9768} 6/3/2008
John,The reason I give "Good" is besides the obvious tilting also the frame cut makes that photo completely out of balance and to busy of a subject PLUS compare what you have been uploading ...you early uploads since you started @ UF seems a totaly different world(GREAT STUFF) Not sure what is happening?? why can't you do it as you had it even better!!!
Cheers,
Harry

John Hatz   {K:144528} 6/4/2008
thanks very much Harry... BUT... :-)
take a careful look at the top side of the gate... at the sign... you'll see that the frame was not tilt on the main subject I was shot, the road was tilt... ;-)
be well!

Hello dear John ... I love your work and your land ... this architecture is amazing as is the entire image... the textures are wonderful , the exposure ..all of it - one thing I see on my computer is just a small picky thing ... I feel the building is tilted just a bit to the right altho it could be my head -lol!!!
Very well done my friend !
Take Care,
Michele~

G P   {K:9768} 6/5/2008

I love this shot John, the colours are so strange but lovely for me, just don't see that often myself. I love the soft pastel type colour and tones

Wolf Zorrito   {K:12927} 6/5/2008

The pharaos, the vikings, the greek, the romans, the ottomans, the spanish, the dutch, yhe portugese, the brits, the nazis, darth vader ?

thanks very much Dan for your kind comment...
not so good lighting on the real photo Dan... so I had to... do some PSing just to hold the...memory from the place lol...

John Hatz   {K:144528} 6/5/2008
yeap! unfortunaly, everybody that have power, a country, a goverment or even just a guy the most of the times use that in ...bad way... and that doesn't change even we "think" we are better than the old times... sometimes I feal that we are in dark agies... not only about 1300-1500 BUT from BC years to present... :-(
be well!

John Hatz   {K:144528} 6/5/2008
thanks very much dear friend!

1301307 60   {K:41499} 6/5/2008
I like the simplicity of the composition, the placement of the door, the cropping and the lighting. Though it's simple, my eyes seems to wander around, there are a lot of details that catches my attention... very much your style my friend. This is very artistically done with the colors and the textures well seen.
Another beautiful work John..
regards..

Tony Smallman   {K:15803} 6/5/2008
Nicely composed.I like the warmth of the door.
Regards , Tony

That explains my feelings of usual to my eye colours and pastels. Still worked very well

Wolf Zorrito   {K:12927} 6/6/2008
John,

As for power, equality, we still live in the medievals.
Kings and landlords have modern names and our new god is called economy. Strangely paople seem to do better in competition than in cooperation. Competition having one winner and all other losers, while cooperation has only winners. Darkness indeed rules.

G P   {K:9768} 6/6/2008
Hi John, since the correction haven’t got any reply I hope

you understand the fact despite short comings of prejudice

I have always helping prove your photography and many

others too. Also for me takes lot of integrity than Giving

you sympathy of 7s also don’t wand to sound on blame the

others for doing it I believe is your responsibility to

give back in photography something personally hasn’t seen to often doing even the basics!
Cheers,
Harry

John Hatz   {K:144528} 6/6/2008
thanks very much dear Vanessa!

John Hatz   {K:144528} 6/6/2008
thanks very much Dan! eb well!

John Hatz   {K:144528} 6/6/2008
hallo Harry...
because of ...no so much free time I hadn't see the replies and now I see these...
you change the shape of my photo in the right way, I like that you erase a bit of the bottom left part...
lol... don't want 7s... :-) so I left the rating into my photos... what is the reason to see 7s to all your photos?

Jen van Wijn   {K:21028} 6/6/2008
The texture of the walls have been restaured many times, its great they keep these historical buildigs in shape,
wat would we be without history? A great place for keeping a library inside, you did a perfect job on capeturing this,
thanks a lot for sharing dear, be well, Jenxx

John Hatz   {K:144528} 6/7/2008
thanks very much Jen!
history is nice... but only when we try to keep it not just because we learn it but because we also try to make something that will live more than we!!!
be well Jen!
