very good timing and a fenomenal capture of the lightning... it is interesting the fact that you have captured a horizontal lightning which i think happens more rarely than the opposite (or am i wrong?!).

Thanks for your comments Visar! I am not too sure about how much the cloud to cloud lightning occurs but it is sure amazing to watch! Thanks again! Kevin

i've tried this a million times and have come up zilch - how on earth do you people manage to fire the shutter at just the right time? so, lightning wise this is a cool shot - but, photography wise it aint - as a matter of fact it's pretty sloppy - the focus is off, there's a bunch of unintended light reflections and the horizon is tilted (not intentionally i presume). so next time you're out shooting lightnings get a tripod, set up your shot and wait for the discharge.

Thanks for your comment! I started out shooting in a different direction and as the storm to the south began to intensify I positioned my tripod and shot a few in the direction in this photo. I didn't have a lot of time to set up as I had to get out of there shortly after this shot was taken because of the intensifying storm. I have another shot of lightning several shots before this one I would like you to take a look at and critique. This is my first attempt at lightning photography so any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Kevin

Very nice Shot. An amasing opposition is between the ground and the sky above. a yellow light is sleeping from right to left, and a blue light is Flying against to Conquer it.
