About Calatrava Tower, Barcelona, looking upward, shot lying on my back with the sun almost directly overhead. Faced with an image suffering from severe lens flare, which I'd normally bin, I thought I'd let Photoshop loose on it and this was the result..

Hi Gary,I have been having a visit to your gallery and you seem to have a really good eye for achitecture. The fact you have made use of the flare spots in this one adds to the image for me ,also the angle is very complmentary.Well done.
Regards Micky

Looks like a still from 2.000!Excellent angle and use of flare-it really lifts this image.
All the best, Tony

I hate Calatrava, but some of his work is good, this is a very fine picture Gary

You mean you hate Calatrava the person or Calatrava the architect? Either way you'd be the first Spaniard I know who would say so. I no nothing of the person but like the architect. But I may be insulting you if you are not Spanish but Basque, in which case I apologise.
Regards, Gary

In Bilbao there is some buildings by him: a bridge (very average), the airport (very fine); he is an unbearable person and that's the main reason I hate him;
haha, do not apolgise we are not spanish but love Spain and its culture but talking about football i prefer any other team than Spanish
hugs....txules

Great POV and great photshop tricking out. I like the stark contrast and the various colors of lens flare. Rich in texture and the light diffusion. Be well, cross bearing Stan

wonderful abstract Gary, congratulations for the POD...:)

hey Gary,

i find this image quite futuristic- like A Space Odissay: 2001 used to be before 2001! :)

anyways, the sun flares are working fine with it, as well as the dark background, that altogether work tightly to make an earthly construction look much spacelike! (my impression),

regards,
v.

Great photo, because you left the colourful flares thus creating an artwork by yourself !!

Complimenti vivissimi
eccellente punto di ripresa
ottima composizione
p.s. tra poco a Cosenza si inizia a costruire il ponte di Calatrava, che ho conosciuto ed č una persona meravigliosa.

Micky and Visar echo my thoughts. Whatever you did in PS was to great effect. The black sky, sun spots and flare from the sun enhance the image, and there is indeed a 2001 Space Odyssey feel to this. You do seem to have an eye for architecture!

osama saleeb   {K:1963} 7/8/2008
you made it like a ship on space
great work
