About This is a small fly, about 3 mm., which I photographed in a wet meadow. It may be a marsh fly. The magnification is about 4:1 using a macro converter (teleconverter) and the 200 mm. macro lens. The depth of filed is shallow but helped by the fact that this creature is so small. The lens was set to f/16 which yielded effectively f/45 with the converter. Lighting involved three SBR-200 flash units mounted on the lens. I attempted some modeling effect by reducing the output of the two lower units.

Impecable macro... un fondo luminoso que realza este diminuto insecto!
Felicitaciones!!!

Your best macro so far in my opnion Eb. Great colour with an almost luminiscent effect - superb lighting,m leaving the flower in the background appearing as the sun! Beatiful and sharp, creat angle too. Well done!!

Thanks for such a well considered comment, Joggie! Getting this image was a travail since the hand holding the heavy combination of 200mm, plus converter, plus three SB200 makes it hard to keep a tightly cropped subject in the frame at 4x. By the time the shutter is pressed, a leg is out of frame. In this case I had to splice a leg from another exposure!

I enjoyed my months holiday at the east coast and fulfilled the motto of Canada - "a mare usque ad mare." It is my hope that I will have interesting images to post, too!
Eb
