Hi, Avi, I have hard time with my orientation seems there is a reason you have it on "Critic" the left part its to aggressive also the lower part of the feet don't walk to gather I feel the over all composition also its very unusual the only part that works for me is the dissolving...I guess all those elements is to blame my disorientation
Harry

PS: I hate to do critics :):):) front of these good photographers :) It’s always is been like this but at list try to help!!!

Gust@vo Sch3v3rin   {K:118246} 7/1/2008

Sure Harry, and I have always liked that. Ok, let me know if any of these two work for you:

http://www.usefilm.com/Image.asp?ID=1426572

They are very similar, the approach was the same.

best,

This is some nice reflective play.

G P   {K:9768} 7/1/2008
I saw them I guess my point particular this one has so many elements crowded to gather that takes a way the attention from one point to another I guess abstracts are always abstracts as long the meet the eye criteria!
the vision its always great but the final execution is the mastery of composing!
Harry

Biplab Sikdar   {K:187} 7/1/2008

Aniket Chakrabarty   {K:2469} 7/1/2008

In short, superb....jd

Gary Hill   {K:31170} 7/1/2008
For mr, there's a sci-fi, even moody horror element to this, with the guy decomposing as he walks forward. Leaves a lot to the imagination, which is a godd thing.
Regards, Gary

Yazeed Jalili   {K:29570} 7/1/2008

Francisco N-G   {K:26823} 7/2/2008
Excellent work dear Avi; interesting vantage point as it leaves the viewer wondering what's happening here. Great street abstract, imho, the contrast levels are just perfect for creating this unsettling effect.

Well done!!!

F.

Nick Karagiaouroglou   {K:89018} 7/7/2008
Exactly the right moment! For having a part of the reflection solid enough in order to support the impression that it is the real figure and not its reflection. And also for having another part "dissolving" on the non-flat part of the reflecting surface. Which together constructed the view of somebody that runs and at the same time desintegrates into thin air. It has some resemblance to a comics novell in its B&W toning. Say, something like: "The man that came out of the air".

The exposure balance also help for creating this impression. A bit less exposure would likely make the reflection too solid, and a bit more wouldmake it too "airy". So you're kust in the golden mean, Avi!

The diagonal lines at the left play the role of where the man came from - stairs, perhaps a vehicle, somthing like that. The rotation turned them from leading lines to a partial "portrait view" of the point of his emerging.

Only the reflection of the other man, between the real legs of the protagonists works against this illusion. It doesn't play a significant role, though, since the rest main subject is string enough to absorb the eye and neglect the presence of that "contradicting" secondary reflection.

The EC award was more than deserved. Hat off to you!

Nick

Joggie van Staden   {K:41251} 7/7/2008
Cleverly done Avi with great effect! Congratulations my friend!
Joggie

fotogr@vi     {K:50309} 7/7/2008
Yes, that second man was very interesting to me too. I couldn't quite figure how to describe his purpose, but he seemed to kind of blend in with the composition.

Thanks Nick ! :)

fotogr@vi     {K:50309} 7/7/2008
Thanks my friend !!

Nick Karagiaouroglou   {K:89018} 7/10/2008
I do read Asterix but up to now (to my shame!) I wasn't aware of "zigackly"! I only knew "latürnich"! ;-)

But nice that this knowledge hole has been filled now! Thanks to my always helping "cousins" of the web, that is, as already mentioned at "Asterix at the Olympic Games", ey? ;-)

Cheers! (Though "strictly forbidden"! ;-))

Nick

Now, as Obelix said, hello my comics case, if you like your door you should open it! ;-) (Scracs!!! ;-))

Cheers!
