For some reason I would prefer it sharp all the way... I think that there should be more balance between the two subjects, on one hand the beautiful cat is so captivating by its intense eyes and on another, the gorgeous woman steals the attention toward herself, and it's disappointing to have her beauty muted by a shallow DoF. Just my humble opinion.

The color balance feels too warm here to me, even though there's an orange tabby in the shot. I have attached a more neutral balanced image for comparison.
