Wow, Increadibly sharp and great colour saturation.
Looks like the scanning process and image sharpening has boosted some of the noise in the background. If you have a search for the digital delux toolbox and download the noise reduction action, you might find that you can clean the image up without losing any detail in the flower. I use it and it is quite effective and free to boot.

Brad, some of the "noise" might be attributed to the filter (Virtual Painter) that I used to "paint" the image. However I'll look up the noise reducer that you mentioned and thanks for the tip.

beautiful contrasting colours, extremely sharp But what I personally like is the composition... centre subject and diagonals in foreground and background love it! As for the noise, just make a rough selection (top-right only may do) in PS and apply a gausian blur of 1 pixel
