Hello dear Dan, you're back :)
I have missed your work my friend.
Very nicely composed my dear with great tones. Those clouds look amazing. Great work as usual.
Big hug and kiss,
Julie.

To me again it has something of a "surreal" look and feel. Or say, a mixture of some end-time scene and just admitting the non-normal for quite normal. Something like that.

The hard details on the very very highlighted trees make the contrast to the darker background sky so strong, that it looks as if something were approaching. Which stands again in a strong (almost "illogical") contrast to the people making their pic-nic. Like waiting for the cataclysm without being able to do something against it, and thus... enjoying it! The clear view of the pavillon makes this "peace" very visible, surrounded by some kind of threat that the two seem to not realize.

You got the light very strong here, Dan, which I think was the best to do.

Cheers!

Nick

Ha ha ha Nick, yes it has been like this for quite some time in Auckland at the moment. Everyone trying to make the very most of the tiny bit of light around until the rain comes. Thanks for your comments my friend.

You are very welcome, Dan!

I gave me the idea... what it would look like, if some people had a picnic under cloudy, or even rainy weather? Hmmm, I must convince some friends around about the "advantages" of such a picnic. (Any idea what I could sell them as an advantage?? ;-))

Cheers!

Nick

I meant.. *you* gave me the idea. Where do I have my mind when I write? :-/

Cheers!

Nick
