This is terrific, Marilia. A wonderful natural abstract/still life, especially effective due to your composition and that fantastic fade to white space on the left... The leaf points and that stem add beautiful touches. I wouldn't mind just a bit more clarity of the center veins in the leaf, just to make it pop - but really not important, as the overall effect here is stunning and artistic... Outstanding work.

A red maple leaf... ahhhh yes, the sign of autumn. What an original and subtle picture showing the time of the season, especially when there are so many generic fall shots out there with trees blooming bright orange and red, or leaves scattered on the ground. As others have mentioned above, I also like the simplicity and beauty of this picture. From looking at your folder I see that you have a knack for isolating the simpleness of objects and making them the centerpiece of a picture. This is difficult to do well, especially when you have to make it interesting, as you have done in your pictures.
The combination of cool blue and white (winter colors) mixed with the warmer red and brown (fall colors) is quite interesting. To me it suggests that winter is looming on the horizon as fall runs its course. One thing I keep looking at is the out of focus object (reddish orange color) on the other side of the glass. It appears to be the maple leaf tree from which this leaf had fallen from. This is a neat addition to the picture. Congrats on the splendid capture!
