I must have spent a good 5 hours over the summer trying to get a good shot of this. I'm pleased with the image. But, I know more can be done. I sat on the round seating in the next room using a zoom lens. The people don't react to the camera when they can't see it. Also, the seat high camera position gives the public a similar angular aspect to the poser.

We're fortunate to live in NYC.

Many thanks, Olga. Mr. Sargent and the people whom designed the display must be given high credit.

Thank you, I admire poetry but can grasp little of it.

I know, you had said when you saw mine that you were waiting to get a shot of one/more women in front of this painting. Glad that you at least got the composition you wanted, even if with a man instead of a woman.

cheers

Beautiful moment and catch, Bob.
The image send me really the sense
of pathos and poetry in picture.

It is a good timing and a good composition, Bob. Perhaps a somewhat less centered view could better the balance but still it is a good composition.

The contrast and toning are also not really on their maximal power but somewhere close to it. I guess that a bigger size of the image would reveal more details and make it look a bit sharper.

The atmosphere is well captured as the image conveys the time which seems to be standing still while the guy observes the painting on the wall. And the relative geometry of the two adds also quiet tension and depth/perspective to the scene.

Cheers!

Nick
