I like this one but think the other color post is the winner of the two. I like the DOF in this as Sloan seems to be running out of the picture. The color still in the hair is good. Like to see the different approaches to your work. Thanks for posting your settings and taking the time share them.
Be well, Stan

Thanks for the feedback, Stan.
Any time, any picture I'm happy to share any 'secrets' on how (or why) I arrived at that shot.
Life's too short NOT to share the love, man.

Stan  Hill   {K:28204} 10/21/2008
Thanks Paul, it does help to see what settings are used as a good reference point for future shots. I appreciate the openness to share these things for the sake of my own quest for the improvement of what I am trying as well. You have a great attitude and I really like the less is more philosophy. A little mystery adds a lot to an image. Have a great week.
Be well, Stan

A naturally causing and unspectacular representation. Cheers Gerhard

Yeah , I like this one (IMHO the other one is a bit too MOR) and I did some minor adjustments as you can see here. Good work Paul, a 7+ from me.....

Hi Paul,
I prefer this version without the selective focus. But I'm not too crazy about the selective desat on this one. I have a feeling this shot would look really nice in a dark, chestnut brown sepia. Did you try a sepia tone?
Jeans always look fantastic in B&W or sepia.
The composition is excellent, and she looks great in those jeans!

real interesting process Paul, should I say this one??? for the inhabitual look yes.

Paul Lara   {K:86876} 10/22/2008
I like your crop, but that won't print on 8x10. ;)

Paul Lara   {K:86876} 10/22/2008
Thanks for the feedback, Andre; I'll look at in in sepia.

Al Ungar   {K:4626} 10/22/2008
Not this one Paul !!

Paul Lara   {K:86876} 10/22/2008
Thanks for that, Al.
A consensus develops.

Dan Fisico   {K:8559} 10/26/2008
GREAT SHOT! I prefer the alternate... I find it looks raw and more alive...from her movement to that of the grass...cheers Dan

Maja Godec   {K:15037} 10/29/2008
desaturated..

Paul Lara   {K:86876} 10/29/2008
Yes, it IS Maja; is that good or bad for you?

Maja Godec   {K:15037} 10/30/2008
well you asked which we prefer..so I wrote to you desaturated..I like this one

Paul Lara   {K:86876} 10/30/2008
Ah, THANK you Maja. Now I understand. ;)

Hi Paul,

I like this one better too. I think it fits better with the whole scene. Did you selectively blur everything but the hand or is that just the depth of field very carefully placed? It is really funny how that sharp hand really seems to pop out of the photo trying to escape.

Also on this shot the tear in her pants don't show up that harsh, I found it distracting in the other shot.

PS I wouldn't classify this as being in the project 'innocence'... Or maybe that is just my interpretation..

PPS I love looking through you portfolio! :-) You seem to have taken the path I want to head down to as well.
