About Was a beautiful Fall day in Virginia. I Used a tripod and cable release to get in close and slow down the action some. Though in this image the shutter speed was somewhat shorter, allowing for more texture in the water. www.hawaiianphotos.net

That is an absolutely stunning photograph Vincent. Shutter speed is perfect to capture the water. I usually use about 1/5 of a second or so. This is a beautiful area to photograph with such rich colouring.
Lovely!
Sophie

Thanks for the comment Sophie. Yes this is probably close to 1/5 of a second as well. But the closest Usefilm gives you is 1/15 of a second or 1 second.
I also have one from this shoot where I went perhaps close to five full seconds, and will edit and post that soon to compare. Though the water is much more dream and silk-like, it does lack the added texture you see here. I have found many times now that I seem to not care as much for the really long waterfall/stream exposures. Oftentimes just looking like a bed of white. Thanks again. Best, Vince

Here is a crop from a longer exposure of the same location. Perhaps several seconds long.

stunning picture!
I'm not able to say if exposure is too shorter or not...
The point is: that's perfect the way it is!
Ciao,
Matteo

Simply gorgeous. A fine example of the 'long exposure of water' genre and a reminder of what we'll all miss if Velvia ever disappears
Regards, Gary
