You showed us the locks before, now we see the whole door !
Doors made in 1630 would decompose in our climate outdoors by rain or insects, Mosul must have a climate good for conservation of wood. History, sadeek.

Did I ever tell you I am a history teacher? Photos like this are wonderful... I must research and learn more history from your part of the world. Our lives may be different... but our thoughts and desires are the same.

dear Harry, the house is more than 350 years old,but I don't think that the door is of equal age,it may be a hundred years, just may be,they do repair even in old houses, one kind friend ask me about power switch ,and if it is that old,
as regards to this shot ,it is my estimation that the iron lock is a bout 100 years old or may be a little more, but the wooden lock is older,
All the best,
Saad.

with pleasure Ania,
it is taken in raw format,
I used the ACDsee program to
1-desaturated to 0.
2-used the great shadow/highlight light level 9 steps equalizer, and in this lies the greatness of the program.
3-sharpen the shot at default setting ,but decresed the radius to 1.
4-export the shot in the desired size,
I am so glad to ask your request,
all the best,
Saad.
