It is white white white, and even the air is also white! A very good representation of the essence of winter itself. The strength of the silent mood is conveyed by that kind of standstill that makes everything look like in a temporary sleep. Even the flying crow looks rather than an idea than a real thing.
The goof focus caught the many good details of the tree which in turn turns the uniform white to a scene. Without them the image would be very flat, I assume, but with them here comes the depth. And so does the crow too with its strong contours. The trees on the background supplement this very well toward the distance, and the stream on the foreground does the same on the near field.
I find the whole composition very well thought out and the exposure just about perfect for allowing the white to be really white without any additional tint.

This is a most beautiful Winter scene my dear friend. The snow laden skeletal tree is in perfect balance with the bird and the stream is clearly defined running between the snowy banks. thanks for everything and thanks for the thought. my family and I are good. but at this time in Italy the situation is dramatic. an earthquake measuring 9 on the Mercalli scale, equal to 6.3 on the Richter scale struck an area of Abruzzo, started on 3,30 o’ clock.
the epicenter is about 600 km from where I live. the aftershocks have not heard. but there have been about 100 aftershocks of adjustment.
Italy is a very telluric, also with some vulcano, in the years there have been even more catastrophic earthquakes!
the victims are already over 150, thousands injured and displaced nearly 75,000 people, evacuated.
my nation is not very big and the morphology is especially so by a coast to coast of the peninsula there are a few hundred kilometers, the sea is around also help with the shock, where perhaps "scattered."
