Great! It immediatelly drew my attention as a thumb and I would really recommend it as an examplefor a study of good photography! The award was far more than simply deserved.
Let's look at the excellent lighting balance that preserved the finest transistions between light and shadows, whin in turn painted the relief, the plasticity of the surfaces in such a distinct way! The slight softness matches extremelly well the subject without eliminating any of the wonderfully taken details. A balance not only in quantity bit also in quality of light, that is.
The overall scene, the subject itself, was taken without any of that kind of "sugar coated" attitude with which such subjects are mistreated most of the time. No trace of that overload of artificially amplified "feelings", but a simple human silent... and I would also add *unspoiled* view of something that is extremely hard to capture without spoiling it. You just let the real theater royal of human beings unfold in front of our eyes, by allowing it to speak for itself and without bludgeon it to say anything more than what it says.
Add the good timing and the apparent raise of sharpness on the face expression of the woman, who seems to watch carefully but unobtrusively over the peacefully sleeping child and gere you are a great one! I really must wonder how you managed that light balance, Aykaan!
