Excellent journalistic shot... their faces show what a hard life they have, yet their colorful clothing & jewelry shows hope and cheerfulness. Excellent journalistic shot, Avi! Really like your work!!

I cannot describe the life they live. Let me just say, imagine a village the size of a small football field, bordered by a fence, in the middle of nowhere. there are eight or nine huts, maximum 4 feet high (you have to bend down to enter them), made with clay and cowdung.. the whole place is swarmed with flies. they live there, do some cattle farming (their ONLY occupation) and try to live a life. I don't think they even think in terms of happiness or sadness as we do.

The head turns of he other two kids gives us an idea of the sphere of influence you had here, which didn't encompass the whole room. It's as if you crept in, bagged the shot, then left, which I'm sure you didn't, but which is nevertheless a sign of good photojournalism
Regards, Gary

I am glad that you noticed those small details. Very few these days have the patience to go through a picture like that, including me, sometimes.

Yes, it was pretty obvious that I (a foreigner) was in their little school room, and yet, I tried to remain as much inconspicuous as possible, so as not to disturb the natural environment in there. This little one had just been scolded and turned her head, as did some of the others, as I kind of sneaked behind them.
