About Still playing around with my extension tubes and Gardenias. Found a partially opened Gardenia this afternoon which gave me a bit more of the geometric shape I was looking for, but somehow I don't think I have the angle right... will keep working at it. Thought I'd play around with framing too... maybe I over did it.... used 12mm ext. tube with lens at 250mm w/macro mode, shot hand-held at sunset, flash used... distance to flower was approx. 2 feet, cropped to 50%.

GIII is better Brigitte but I like the composure of this one the best. White flowers are so difficult sweetie but you have done well. I remember my own battles with extension tubes, I surrendered in the end and bought a top macro lens instead. Another big HUUUUUUG and more best wishes......Ray

Thank you stingRay... appreciate your opinion, that's what I'm after... to see what others like. I like a bit of each one for various reasons, but if I had to chose.. I would say this is my least favorite... not sure why, maybe I like the softer defused look of the others. You are so right about these extension tubes... they are a challenge, but can be fun as well. I just have to wait until the mood strikes me, when I'm feeling patient and creative... then I go for it! lol

Saad.

Thank you Saad... it was harder getting a good focus with 3 of them stacked... in this shot and the next one, I only used the 12mm tube. With the tele-zoom lens I did not have to crouch down low to photograph the flowers which was nice on my knees :-). Yes, try it out and tell me how you like it.
