Peat,

An interesting study in expression. The light side of your girlfriends face has an intense expression, while the side in shadow is more relaxed and contemplative. The clinched fist adds to the sense of intensity. An opened hand would have probably have added less weight to the bottom half of the portrait. Nice work...
