Beautifully done, Andre! We've hardly had any fall colours yet but we had 12cm of snow yesterday and last night! Seems like we went from "summer" right to winter, although I don't think the snow will last long.
Dave.

Hi Dave,
This year has been great for the fall colours around here and up at our cottage. I know a lot of people will not believe that this is not embelished in Photoshop. :) This was early morning light. Perfect for this kind of image I think.
It is almost zero here in Toronto this morning, but very clear. So, no snow here yet. But, we will be getting your snow by Friday up at the cottage. I hope it doesn't stick.

Thanks Wolf,
It was a beautiful morning. Unfortunately the trees don't stay like this for long.

Yes, orange, but what an orange it is, Andre! An ornage with such a good contrasting background of exactly the appropriate turquoise-blues! I think that much of the grandiosity of autumn goes back to exactly this. But here I see something more! It is the nicely taken transition between details in foliage and that certain kind of "sparkling continuum of reflections" on the tree. It makes the distinct light of autmun so obvious that one can just sit and look... just for looking, that is.

The two "orange plants" on the foreground I would consoder eliminating somehow, though I know that in nature... this "somehow" is often a synonym for impossible.

Very good work. Perhaps "usual" but quite so often we have to sit down again and just take a look at the "usual" - as long as it still exists, that is. ;-)

Cheers!

Nick

Andre Denis   {K:61492} 10/28/2009
Thanks Nick,
I had really nice morning light with the sun peeking through the clouds just over my shoulder for this shot. I think that contributed to the nice transition of colour and detail you mention.

I noticed the same as you that the composition might have been improved by cutting a bit from the bottom. This one is the full frame with no crop at all.

Ps I almost got a speeding ticket last week driving to work down this same road by this scene. Luckily the police were lenient and gave me a warning.
I should know better and slow down and enjoy the scenery :)
Andre

Nice light and super autumn color. Regards, Allen

Nick Karagiaouroglou   {K:126315} 10/29/2009
Well, sometimes the police warnings may also be thought as a perhaps frightening but nonetheless good willing suggestion for somebody to take some time for looking around, ey? ;-)

I will be doing the same this Saturday. Not in the country but in our local market place which starts very early in the morning too. If I have the luck of a sunny day it could result into some good shots.

Cheers and don't forget to slow down, now that you are registered in the databases of the police! ;-)

Andre Denis   {K:61492} 11/2/2009
Thanks again Allen,
The colours lasted an extra long time this year for some reason. They are almost all gone up here now. But some are still hanging in there.
Andre

Andre Denis   {K:61492} 11/3/2009
Yes, exactly. The first question the officer asked me was... When was the last time you got a speeding ticket? If you try to fool them, you are asking for a nice fine when they catch you in a lie.
Andre

Nick Karagiaouroglou   {K:126315} 11/6/2009
Which just has to remind me again of my almost permanent motto about sincerity as the best polica, Andre. ;-) Or just say, an indirect confirmation by the police itself, which I would never expect, but which also does good to me! ;-)

In case of knowledge of the own mistake, better to speak open and accept it, just like saying "Yes officer, that was too fast." There is nothing as simple and as clean as that. BTW, also in front of the own self.

Thoughts on a Thursday night, that is. ;-)

Cheers"

Nick

So let me get this straight...YOU are the one speeding & endangering the lives of others and YOU attempt to draw attention to something that....{I'm not allowed to comment on at this time}...

Hey, have a nice day!
:)

Andre Denis   {K:61492} 11/11/2009
Hi Kes,
Yeah, I actually took this one while speeding and hanging out the car window. :)

Just swinging by to keep in touch Andre.
I do like this my friend. Lovely rich Autumnal colours in a wonderful peaceful setting. I love too the skyline, always a bonus if there are some cloud formations there. Well done to you. My very best wishes to you as always.....Ray

Andre Denis   {K:61492} 11/20/2009
Hi Ray,
Good to see you back for a visit.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. Hope all is well with you and your family and hope to see some more images from you soon.
Andre
